Yaroslav Sydorovych gave a lecture «International trade of Ukraine and business communications in the conditions of russian aggression» to Lviv students

Senior expert of the project «russian assets as a source of recovery of the Ukrainian economy» Yaroslav Sydorovych gave a lecture on the topic: «International trade of Ukraine and business communications in the conditions of russian aggression» for students of «International Economy» and «Business Economics» of Ivan Franko National University in Lviv.

«During February-March 2023, the National Interests Advocacy Network «ANTS» conducted a number of expert-analytical studies regarding some russian assets under sanctions, in particular regarding the reserves of the Central Bank of russia as the object of sanctions against the russian federation, determined the approximate structure and dynamics of indicators reserves of the CBR, and also identified the cause-and-effect relationship of the system of economic sanctions on the qualitative and quantitative parameters of the asset portfolio,» Yaroslav Sydorovych said.

He also talked about the sanctions decisions regarding international trade in russian goods, the problems of circumventing sanctions and the prospects of confiscation of the assets of the russian federation and its residents.

«The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated February 22, 2023 «On the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) to financial institutions of the russian federation», which applied a wide range of sanctions restrictions to the entire financial sector of the russian federation, which can serve as an example for other democratic countries to effectively extend sanctions to the entire financial system of the russian federation and use the confiscation of assets of the russian federation and its residents, in particular the reserves of the Central Bank of the russian federation, to stop financing the war and compensate russia for significant losses and damages caused by military aggression on the territory of Ukraine», – reminded the senior expert of the project.

The lecture was delivered as part of the project «russian Assets As the Source to Restore the Ukrainian Economy», which aims to organize a number of other events that will contribute to raising public awareness of the importance of confiscating russian assets for restoring the Ukrainian economy.
