The EU negotiations on Ukraine’s accession are a significant step towards greater political stability, economic prosperity, and enhanced security in the region. This complex and multi-faceted process highlighted the need for effective collaboration and synergy among Ukrainian public and local authorities, as well as civil society with the EU institutions and European think tanks. This synergy is not just beneficial but essential for Ukraine’s successful and prosperous Eurointegration that would strengthen all sides.

Euroscope, in cooperation with NGO Centre of Policy and Legal Reform, is organizing a three-day advocacy visit of Ukrainian experts and city mayors to strengthen cooperation with EU officials and think tanks in Brussels and Mons to facilitate the EU-Ukraine accession process.

Participants: Ukrainian public (online) and local authorities – mayors (offline), EU institutions, think tanks, NGOs, media.

The discussion panels will explore the following topics:

  • Strengthening Ukrainian Governance: Enhancing Institutional Capacity for European Integration;
  • Civil Society’s Role in Eurointegration: Strengthening Participation, Transparency, and Accountability in the Accession Process;
  •  Empowering Regions for European Integration

The advocacy visit aims to enhance mutual understanding of the emerging expectations among participants of the EU-Ukraine negotiation process. This will involve developing concrete policy and action recommendations that can guide both Ukrainian officials and civil society and the EU in addressing specific integration challenges. The discussions will have a particular focus on public administration reform, civil society engagement, and regional empowerment.

Euroscope will also present the outcomes of its project activities achieved over the past year, highlighting the key findings from Euroscope Digests. Concurrently, the Centre of Policy and Legal Reform will share a set of recommendations developed by representatives of civil society and public authorities. These recommendations were formulated during a public discussion held in Kyiv dedicated to strengthening Ukraine’s institutional capacity.
