A member of “ANTS” joined the organization of the exhibition of Ukrainian craftswoman Ksenia Shpylka

On October 17, the Sumy Regional Scientific Library hosted the exhibition of patriotic collages “From Art to Victory” by master embroiderer and poet Ksenia Shpylka on October 17.

Luciana Shum, a cultural expert with the National Interests Advocacy Network “ANTS” assisted in organizing the exhibition.

“”ANTS” aims to help small businesses, small manufacturers, and individuals who do unusual things. That is why we decided to help organize Ksenia Shpylka’s exhibition. She has been interested in embroidery for 9 years. The artist creates modern embroidery. Her clothes highlight the owner’s individuality and views. The craftswoman does all of the embroidery herself, creating one-of-a-kind ornaments. Her works highlight even historical events: she has embroidery pieces dedicated to the Russian-Ukrainian war, as well as works dedicated to the Mariupol defenders.Ksenia’s work expresses her active civic position, patriotism, and love for Ukraine. We held the first exhibition of the craftswoman’s works in the summer at the Lviv Library for Children and Youth, and now – in her native Sumy, – says Luciana Shum. The patriotic collage exhibition “From Art to Victory” combines embroidery and military ammunition. This is Ksenia’s suggestion. Each of the author’s works has a distinct meaning. In addition, each collage includes the author’s signature of the artist, who is also a poet”.

Postcards for charitable contributions can be purchased at the library as part of this event. The proceeds will be used to purchase paraffin for trench candles, which will be made by employees of the regional universal scientific library as part of the campaign “Trench candles – to Ukraine’s Defenders!” You can see Ksenia Shpylka’s collages on the 3rd floor in hall 305 until October 31st, inclusive.
