Africa is not only a region of challenges — it is a continent of partnership opportunities. It represents dozens of UN-voting states, a billion-strong population with dynamic economies, and a new generation seeking equal allies, not paternalistic overseers.
Ukraine, having already proven itself a guarantor of global food security and an active player in international politics, must now articulate a clear strategic vision for its engagement with Africa.
Ahead of Africa Day, celebrated on May 25, we will gather with leading experts, government officials, diplomats, and scholars to discuss:
-
What are the priorities of Ukraine’s foreign policy in Africa?
-
How can Ukraine counter Russian disinformation and Chinese influence?
-
How can symbolic gestures be transformed into lasting partnerships?
-
What can Ukraine offer Africa — and what can it gain in return?
In the focus of the discussion:
-
Ukraine’s strategic vision for its Africa policy
-
Political support in international organizations: how to make it consistent and sustainable
-
Inter-parliamentary diplomacy and innovative tools of engagement
-
Economic cooperation: beyond grain — agrotechnology, digital solutions, and education
-
Humanitarian presence, cultural diplomacy, and Ukraine’s soft power in Africa
-
Reputational risks and the information war: how to defend Ukraine’s image
Among the invited participants:
-
Oleksandr Mishyn, PhD in Political Science, Lecturer at the Educational and Research Institute of International Relations (TBC)
-
Yuriy Oliynyk, Ukrainian Strategic Studies (TBC)
-
Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on EU Integration (TBC)
