Time: 13:30–15:00.
Venue: Ukrinform.
On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day 2025, which this year is held under the WHO slogans #TearOffTheMaskOfAttractiveness and #ExposingTobacco, the ANTS Youth Club, together with its partners, is organizing a policy dialogue to amplify the voice of Ukrainian youth against the deceptive marketing tactics of the tobacco industry and to promote systemic solutions at the public policy level.
The tobacco industry does not stop. It changes its appearance — but not its goal: to addict young people.
- 45% of Ukrainians aged 18–29 already use tobacco or nicotine products
- 75% of young people are exposed to tobacco advertising
- Over 100,000 Ukrainians die every year from tobacco-related diseases.
This is a creeping epidemic — and we cannot remain silent. That’s why the ANTS Youth Club, together with its partners, is launching the campaign: “Tobacco- and Nicotine-Free Youth of Ukraine 2030.” We are bringing together experts, Members of Parliament, doctors, and young people to say with one voice: It’s time to act!
Key Objectives of the Event:
- Announce the launch of the nationwide campaign #YouthOfUkraineFreeFromTobaccoAndNicotine2030
- Publicly call on the Verkhovna Rada to adopt Draft Law No. 12091, which would:
- Ban the display of tobacco and nicotine products at points of sale prohibit advertising of e-cigarette brands and tobacco heating devices
- Ban flavored tobacco products (e.g., mango, mint, etc.)
- Introduce graphic health warnings on all tobacco and tobacco-heating product packaging
- Raise public awareness about the harmful manipulative tactics of the tobacco industry
- Unite youth, healthcare professionals, and policymakers in a joint effort to protect the health of the next generation
