The other day, another meeting was held within the framework of “ANTS European Studies”. Dmytro Shymkiv, the Ukrainian top manager in the field of innovation, spoke with the youth. Ukraine, the world, and military-civilian innovations were talked about during the meeting.
“We live in a rather difficult time for Ukraine. We can communicate today thanks to the the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, the world is changing, and a lot of interesting, new, uncertain, frightening things are born in this transformation. Italy has banned ChatGPT, Europe is preparing a set of sanctions against ChatGPT. And at the same time, we see the frantic development of the military-technical potential of Ukraine. I am an investor in the military technology startup “Aerodron”, which is engaged in unmanned aviation. An interesting transformation is taking place in this world. The civilian is moving into the military, the military into the civilian. However, it used to be like that. We just didn’t watch it. You will be very surprised that there is so much military technology in society today. What I see, and what I find interesting: technological development will increase and develop.”
The coordinator of “European Studies” Olena Sas agreed with Dmytro Shymkiv’s observation that Ukraine is very different, and in different regions even approaches to doing business differ.
“Therefore, our strength lies in the will and recognition of diversity. We are united, but at the same time we respect our differences within the borders of our country. In general, this meeting was enthusiastically received. Dmytro happily communicates with young people, as he is a versatile person and is interested in extremely different things. He sees his mission as talking to young people about such topics. And we are very grateful for that. According to the reviews, this meeting was very good for young people, it gave impetus to their thinking. They were interested in many of the topics that were raised, in particular cyber security, which, by the way, he also deals with, development and innovation, and they asked for advice on what to read.”
The event is held within the framework of the “MATRA”/”Key Principles of Ukraine’s Effective Path to the EU: Monitoring, Cooperation, Education” Program Project.
Additional Information:
ANTS European Studies is a unique approach to educating promising Ukrainian youth, immersing students in the theory and practice of European integration.
It consists of a combination of lectures by leading European and Ukrainian experts, intellectuals and practitioners, recorded in Bohdan Gavrylyshyn’s apartment, from which a distance learning course is formed on an open educational platform, and further live meetings of the most successful students in face-to-face format with lecturers.
The value of this combination lies in the listeners’ in-depth and step-by-step understanding of the specifics of the work of European institutions, their effectiveness, their connections with national management systems, EU budget and fiscal procedures, as well as the activities of various markets, innovation ecosystems, the latest developments in the fields of defense and security, etc.
An important component of the training is also the familiarization visits of students to Europe and internships, as well as possible further work in the Ukrainian central authorities and analytical centers of Ukraine for the implementation of our country’s effective European integration progress.
European studies are part of a larger plan of the NGO National Interests Advocacy Network “ANTS” to form and nurture a new state elite, a network of new generation specialists who will work for the good of Ukraine, being part of state and civil institutions.
