Round table “Ukraine – NATO ahead of the Ankara summit”

We invite you to join the expert round table “Ukraine – NATO ahead of the Ankara summit: from mutually beneficial cooperation to membership,” which will take place on July 6 in Kyiv.

Ahead of the NATO Summit in Ankara, the National Interests Advocacy Network “ANTS” aims to bring together representatives of state institutions, parliament, the expert community, the security and defense sector, and civil society to discuss pressing issues of cooperation between Ukraine and the Alliance, as well as expectations from the upcoming decisions of the allied states.

During the discussion, participants will examine how the Ukrainian experience and implemented reforms can strengthen the Euro-Atlantic community. They will also discuss Ukraine’s expectations from the upcoming summit and the prospects for the further development of relations with NATO.

Special attention will be paid to three key areas:

  • Defense innovations and technologies as Ukraine’s contribution to strengthening Euro-Atlantic security:Participants will discuss the role of Ukrainian defense technologies, unmanned systems, digital solutions, and combat experience in developing the Alliance’s modern capabilities and shaping new approaches to warfare.

  • Security and defense sector reform and democratic accountability as the foundation of Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration: The discussion will focus on Ukraine’s progress in implementing NATO standards and achieving interoperability with the Alliance, as well as strengthening civilian oversight and democratic control over the security and defense sector.

  • Societal resilience and crisis preparedness as Ukraine’s experience for NATO partners: Participants will examine issues of national resilience, the interaction between the state, civil society, and local communities, as well as the lessons that Ukraine’s experience in responding to large-scale security challenges can offer to allied states.
