The War in Ukraine as Seen by Public Opinions and Political Leaders in Nato’s Countries. Perceptions and Implications. The Case of France

Date: 9 October, 2025

Venue: Online, via Zoom

Bruno Jockers, Advisor to the Security Service of Ukraine, Transformation Advisory Division of the NATO Representation to Ukraine, will discuss how the Russian war against Ukraine is perceived by the societies of NATO member states.

In particular, the speaker will focus on the situation in France, where:

  • despite internal debates on the possible involvement of French troops in Ukraine, society as a whole continues to support our country;

  • European nations, including France, are facing an increasing number of hybrid threats and need to respond to them proactively;

  • there is a growing recognition that NATO countries, particularly France, have long underestimated the scale and influence of Russian propaganda — both in Europe and in Africa.

This project is implemented with the support of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
