During the Holodomor of 1932–1933, the world remained a silent witness to the genocide of the Ukrainian people. No one stopped Stalin’s crime then. Today, we once again face an attempt to annihilate Ukrainians — this time by Putin’s regime. But unlike in 1932, the world can act.

During the commemoration, participants will have the opportunity to view a unique archival exhibition: “1932–1933 // 2014–2025 – The Code of Genocide of the Ukrainian People”.

The exhibition presents unique documents from the collections of the Central State Archive of Public Associations and Ukrainian Studies, as well as the Central State Audiovisual and Electronic Archive. Attendees will be able to explore documentary evidence highlighting various aspects and the scale of the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932–1933, as well as the work of the Ukrainian diaspora in informing the international community about these tragic events.

The exhibition also includes:

  • The archival criminal case of V. Ivchuk, a teacher from Dudarkiv School in the Boryspil district, Kyiv region, who saved around 200 school-age children in his village from starvation;
  • Speeches on the Holodomor in Ukraine by S. Terletskyi, the first ethnic Ukrainian member of the British Parliament, a member of the Council of Europe, and advisor to UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

The thematic presentation of the exhibition is further supported by archival documents collected by archivists, highlighting events of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine and the selfless struggle of the Ukrainian people to defend civilizational values.

Opening:

Representative of MFA (TBC) Anatolii Khromov, Head of the State Archive Service of Ukraine

Discussion:

  • Andrii Mikheiev, international lawyer, ICUV
  • Rev. Volodymyr Malchyn, Head of the Infrastructure Development, Caritas Ukraine
  • Yuliia Tukalenko, Psychologist at the Voices of Children Foundation

Closing part: Moment of silence in memory of the Holodomor victims.

Let us stand together to ensure that 1933 does not repeat itself.

We express our deep gratitude to all countries that have recognized the Holodomor as genocide and to those recognizing Russia as an aggressor state.
